Virtualisation Solutions from Bramatt Computing
- Have you got aging servers?
- Need to upgrade/replace your old servers, but don’t know what to do?
- Worried about the cost of replacing your server hardware?
- What is the cost/business impact of losing a server?
- Looking to span this replacement cost over a number of years?
Pricing for both Virtualisation and HCI has dropped dramatically throughout the years. Often these solutions can now be delivered for the same price or cheaper than just replacing your existing physical servers on a like for like basis.
Doing more with less becomes the norm:
Hypervisor’s automate , manage and deliver the compute, memory and storage resources to keep all applications at peak performance without over provisioning.
Built in Business continuity technologies deliver High Availability & Disaster Recovery options as standard.
Servers automatically move from node to node in the event of a server failure.
Administrative tasks such as adding servers and introducing new applications are massively reduced.
Virtualization is the process of creating a software-based, or virtual, representation of something, such as virtual applications, servers, storage and networks. It is the single most effective way to reduce IT expenses while boosting efficiency and agility for all size businesses.
A software layer called the hypervisor emulates the underlying hardware. This allows for greater flexibility, control and isolation by removing the dependency on a given hardware platform; scalability is also increased
The virtual operating system can run multiple operating systems and applications (known as a VM) on a single server. Each self-contained VM is completely independent. Putting multiple VMs on a single computer enables several operating systems and applications to run on just one physical server, or “host.”
The main hypervisor manages and delivers the compute, memory and shared storage resources to keep all application at peak performance without over provisioning unlike the traditional physical approach
A typical SMB solution will comprise of 3 Nodes (Host Servers), Shared Storage and a Network Connectivity Layer.
Hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) is a software-defined IT infrastructure that virtualizes all of the elements of conventional "hardware-defined" systems.
HCI includes, at a minimum, virtualized computing (a hypervisor), a virtualised SAN (software-defined storage) and virtualized networking (software-defined networking). HCI typically runs on commercial off-the-shelf servers.
The primary difference between traditional virtualisation solutions and hyper-converged infrastructure is that in HCI, both the storage area network and the underlying storage abstractions are implemented virtually in software (at or via the hypervisor) rather than physically, in hardware.
Because all of the software-defined elements are implemented within the context of the hypervisor, management of all resources can be federated across all instances of a hyper-converged infrastructure.
A Typical SMB solution is very straight forward and as pictured above would comprise of 3 self contained Nodes (servers). This would house all the necessary CPU performance, storage HDD and network connectivity.
Bramatt Computing have been designing, installing and supporting solutions to the SMB market since 2007. With a wealth of experienced consultants, Bramatt can provide the expertise or assistance you need to meet your business demands.
Bramatt places a strong emphasis on solutions and has many years of commercial expertise; this results in our ability to quote on relevant products and services for your company.
